First Light
A rhythm and punctuation study for a fictional creative exercise.
The brief
The source is a one-line prompt encouraging observation. Its spare voice is useful, but the inserted comma breaks the phrase “one small observation”. The brief is to restore the rhythm without changing the idea.
The decision
The suggested line removes that comma. The surrounding explanation separates an objective punctuation correction from a broader stylistic preference. This helps an author decide whether a marked change is necessary or optional.
