Cancellations and refunds
No checkout is operated here. These provisions explain enquiries and later separately accepted work.
1. The website itself has no checkout
There is no paid proofreading order on this website. Viewing a sample, selecting an editorial level and preparing an outline cost nothing and cannot create a charge. No bank details or card information are collected. If you close an unsent draft, there is no editing purchase for the website to refund. A message that reaches an inbox can still be only a request to discuss scope; it does not by itself show that an assignment was accepted or a fee became due.
2. Before accepting paid work
Cancellation arrangements for real editorial work should reflect the stage of the manuscript and the work agreed. Confirm the word count, editing level, scheduled review, fee and any payment stages before acceptance. A final proof, a copy-editing pass and a separate editorial report can have different deliverables. The portfolio imposes no universal deposit, minimum charge or refund percentage. Ask how rescheduling and withdrawal will be handled in the actual agreement, with any mandatory rights under applicable law preserved.
3. Changing or cancelling an accepted request
If you want to cancel work that has actually been accepted, communicate promptly and identify the agreement and the work affected. Ask for confirmation of what has been received and what can still be stopped. Opening an email application or deleting a draft is not a cancellation received by the other party. Depending on the agreement and applicable law, work already completed, specifically authorised expenses or irreversible third-party commitments may need separate consideration. Their existence and amount must be established from the actual record.
4. Concerns about the delivered scope
If an accepted edit seems not to match the brief, point to the relevant passage, instruction or promised file rather than only saying that the result feels different. A correction may be appropriate where an agreed language issue was missed; an author’s new stylistic direction may instead need a scope discussion. The remedy depends on the facts, accepted terms and applicable rights. The site does not promise a publication outcome, automatically grant unlimited rewriting or predetermine how every editorial disagreement must be resolved.
5. Third-party orders and commitments
Printing, publication, translation and external platform fees are separate from the editorial examples. A publisher or printer can have commitments and cancellation conditions of its own. The initial website form does not authorise any such order. Ask which costs are included, which require your approval and who is the contracting party before committing funds. A cancellation request to this publisher does not automatically cancel a separate agreement with another provider. Likewise, a third party’s policy cannot by itself decide what is owed under a different agreement. Establish the actual payments and contractual roles when considering reimbursement.
6. How to raise a refund request
For a concern about a real assignment, direct the request to [email protected] and identify the manuscript or engagement without attaching unnecessary confidential material. State the relevant invoice or payment if there was one, the problem and the resolution sought. A full card number or banking password is never needed in that first message. The website has no refund processor or automatic approval screen. Any agreed reimbursement must be documented and made through an appropriate verified route, rather than assumed from the local draft preview.
7. Statutory rights and updates
Applicable mandatory rights may govern cancellation periods, defective services, refunds or other remedies and take precedence where required. Nothing here requires someone to waive rights that cannot be waived or accept an invented universal no-refund rule. This page describes the website and enquiry process as of 3 November 2026. A future paid product, subscription or ordering feature would need conditions that describe that feature before use. For an existing engagement, review the terms actually accepted and the law applicable to that transaction.
